TASKS AND DUTIES
- Oversee and supervise the Manufacturing and Distribution departments
- Provide for the timely manufacture and distribution of product against customer orders.
- Maintain average workdays to manufacture and ship all published catalog items.
- Maintain average workdays to manufacture and ship all custom manufactured items (RCC label)
- Provide monthly responses to budget variance.
- Provide for utilization planning by weekly reporting of the average Work-in-Process.
- Perform physical inventories of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
- Provide for an appropriate balance of inventory to meet performance and financial objectives.
- Implement plant safety programs and ensure compliance with GMP.
- Confirm that appropriate work instructions are developed and maintained and followed throughout the business.
- Ensure that all ISO quality systems are followed.
- Provide compliance to ISO quality systems (i.e. Corrective Action)
- Oversee facilities and grounds maintenance.
- Manage and supervise employees, resolve problems, and make recommendations for staffing and interviewing candidates for employment.
- Responsible for annual personnel reviews
REQUIREMENTS
Education: The Operations Manager should have a four-year college degree in a chemistry or engineering related discipline or business-related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of eight years manufacturing management experience supervising manufacturing employees with a knowledge of hazmat, ISO, distribution, and safety programs.
Physical Requirements: This person shall have sufficient eyesight and hearing (both may be corrected) to read business documents and communicate with employees and customers. This person shall have heat tolerance so he/she may spend extensive time as required in an un-conditioned warehouse. This person should be able to lift 75 pounds, as he/she may assist in the duties and job tasks of all subordinates.
Mental Requirements: The Operations Manager should be able to make decisions and suggest appropriate actions based on the organizational short-term and long-term goals as well as information that may be assimilated on their own. This person must be capable of directing a work force in the completion of the daily operational goals while handling multiple projects and planning for future growth.
Working Conditions: The Operations Manager will work predominantly in an air-conditioned and clean office. There will be times when work is required to be conducted in the laboratory and un-air conditioned or heated warehouses where exposure to heat and hazardous materials is likely. Occasional travel and the oversight of more than one facility may be expected.
