Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood sampling with precision and care.
- Collect, label, and process specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and specimen collection procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient service by ensuring a comfortable experience during the blood draw process.
- Collaborate with clinical laboratory staff to ensure proper handling and processing of specimens.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards in all laboratory procedures.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and cleanliness of the work area.
- Stay updated on best practices in phlebotomy and participate in ongoing training as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in specimen collection processing, particularly venipuncture.
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to blood sampling techniques.
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory environments and hospital settings is preferred.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail and adherence to laboratory procedures is essential.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is highly desirable.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
