Job Description
At Richelieu Foods we are making Great Food from Great People. We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager who is comfortable driving transformation while reinforcing a culture of support and development. The Manufacturing Manager will report directly to the Director of Plant Operations with some exposure to the Richelieu Senior Leadership Team.
The Manufacturing Manager will oversee the development of a team and helps to create a succession plan. Develop a strong discipline of role clarity and holds self and team members accountable for performance and collaboration with the whole company establishing and maintaining an inclusive and diverse culture that provides a positive employee experience and ensuring proactive performance management based on feedback, coaching and mentoring.
Essential Functions
- Create a high-performance manufacturing team by recruiting and developing teams with an appropriate mix of experience, capabilities, and skills to consistently meet company goals and departmental initiatives in the most cost-effective manner. Ensure effective succession planning for all pivotal positions.
- Plans, organizes and directs our manufacturing operations to ensure that the factory meets its daily production schedule while ensuring product standards meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. Practices a high on-floor presence.
- Acts as a liaison between departments, maintaining open lines of communication between production, quality, maintenance and supply chain groups.
- Improves production quality, throughput, delivery performance, predictability and profitability through effective planning, metrics and training. Communicates clear metrics and targets to measure improvement.
- Initiates tools and processes to minimize manufacturing costs and improve productivity through effective utilization of manpower, availability of equipment and materials, and capital spending.
- Utilizes and becomes a Just Foods ERP and Aptean production performance software SME to ensure full utilization of the systems capabilities in tracking materials, production and performance.
- Assists the Plant Director in developing and executing overall plant manufacturing strategies:
- Participates in planning, development, implementation & evaluation of strategic business and performance goals and objectives.
- Focuses on standardized work and other lean manufacturing practices.
- Assists Plant Director to develop and deliver labor and VOH budget:
- Manages budget and cost controls considering changes in demand (volume), business seasonality and required service levels.
- Identifies manufacturing cost drivers and proactively adjusts manpower and expenses to achieve budget commitments.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce production costs and improve material flow.
- Develops methods to execute approved programs to deliver savings within company quality and safety standards.
- Daily focus on yields particularly with production supervisors by line.
- Assists Plant Director to establish an internal development program for Line Leads and Supervisors.
- Ensures Factory meets OSHA requirements and continually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues as well as Employee safety attitudes. Maintains and improves housekeeping in all areas.
- Sets priorities for the manufacturing team to ensure task completion.
- Coordinates work activities with supervisors to support daily business objectives including the management of the overall labor pool, reallocating and assigning based on short- and long-term business demands.
- Assists supervisors in the investigation, documentation and resolution of employee concerns, disciplinary actions and safety concerns.
- Ensures compliance with all food regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to food safety and GMP's.
- Maintains superior scores on all SQF of other third-party audits (customer driven).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years food manufacturing experience
- General understanding of financial and budget management with experience in managing functional areas and scope of business
- Good working knowledge and experience using Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing techniques a plus
- Just Foods ERP and Aptean OEE / Compliance experience a plus
- Bilingual skills a plus

Salary : $83,100 - $105,000
