Job Description
The Technical Services Specialist I position provides support for technology in college classrooms and offices. This position assists other department members with the installation and maintenance of hardware, software, and audio-visual equipment in college facilities. The position will also assist with audio-visual and other technology needs for college events and activities.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED and currently enrolled in Associate’s Degree program in Information Technology (or equivalent) and experience troubleshooting and supporting computer hardware and software in a professional environment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel in both verbal and written form. Must be able to prioritize multiple requests in a timely manner. Should possess a good working knowledge of desktop hardware and software systems.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed. There may be irregular hours periodically including weekend and/or evening hours for support of special events. Summer hours may vary. This position may be eligible for the alternative work
TRAVEL
Local travel to satellite locations is expected to assist with necessary setup and support of campus technology.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to receive, process, and provide visual and verbal information.
Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations.
Provide timely response to externally/internally imposed conditions and deadlines.
Respond to concurrent, multiple, non-related issues.
Work is routinely performed in an office environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling, using hands and fingers, and stooping.
Work is occasionally performed in academic classrooms, laboratories, and data wiring closets. Subject to occasionally climbing steep stairs & ladders, and lifting of objects up to 50lbs.

N-7, minimum salary $16.82/hr
