Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified National Estimator to join our National Purchasing team. The National Estimator will implement national takeoff and estimating strategies that deliver the best total value for Richmond American Homes Divisions. The National Estimator will contribute to the success of the Procurement Organization through a comprehensive understanding of takeoff and estimating principles along with sharp analytical abilities.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for all takeoffs required by our system to generate contracts.
- Responsible for material estimates and cost estimates for assigned categories and projects.
- Work closely with Product Development, Purchasing and Options teams to assist in the new community process.
- Collaborate with division purchasing teams on takeoff and itemization initiatives.
- Utilize systems and technology to execute material takeoffs and reporting.
- Analyze documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain thorough understanding of project scopes and to effectively execute material takeoffs.
Requirements
Experience: Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field preferred.
- MS Excel proficiency is required.
- An understanding of home building operations is preferred.
- An understanding of analyzing supply industries, key cost drivers and market dynamics is preferred.
- Experience generating material takeoffs and utilizing estimating software is preferred.
- MRP/ERP experience is preferred.
Skill In: The candidate will possess strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to drive results through a nationwide structure.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership experience is required.
- The successful candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain strong inter-company and inter-department relationships.

Compensation
- Base Salary: $65,000-85,000
- FLSA Status: Exempt
- Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
