Position Overview :
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for handling patient referrals and coordinating communication between patients, providers, and other healthcare facilities. This role requires excellent attention to detail, superb customer service skills, and the ability to navigate referral systems efficiently.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and process patient referrals to external providers
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
- Communicate with patients to provide updates and answer referral-related questions
- Follow up with providers and patients to ensure referral completion
- Maintain accurate records in our electronic health system
- Patient appointment scheduling
- Coordinating medical records
