Description
To assist in providing a clean, healthy, safe, and well-maintained environment for conference center guests through preventative maintenance and repair of boilers, hot water systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems
Responsibilities
- Assist with repair and preventative maintenance on all mechanical, electrical, and environmental control systems
- Assist with install and/or replacement of mechanical equipment and related accessories, HVAC systems, energy management systems, and refrigeration equipment
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining energy management systems to provide indoor air quality and comfortable temperatures of interior spaces
Requirements
- High level of integrity and strong work ethic
- Ability to meet quality standards
- Maintains a working knowledge of current technologies in HVAC areas
- Familiar with National Electrical, Fire Alarm, and local codes concerning all mechanical systems
- Maintain understanding of basic electronics
- Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprint drawings
Education, Work Experience, and Other Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Required certification to reclaim and recycle CFC and HCFC refrigerants (or successful completion of such certification within 6 months of entering this position)
- Vocational training or equivalent experience (2 years)
- Certifications in the various disciplines required to maintain the equipment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must possess the necessary physical stamina for walking/standing/working for extended periods (up to 12 hours),
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
- Good body mobility with good range of motion from floor level to overhead
- Able to work outdoors in varying and inclement weather conditions
- Work will include significant amounts of bending, stretching, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and lifting on a daily basis
- Must possess the ability to use hand and power tools
- Must possess normal vision, hearing and sense of smell
- Some night and weekend work will be necessary. Emergency call back may be required.
