Electric Meter Tech - Daytona, FL

Pay Rate: $17.50/ hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Occasional Tuesday - Saturday

Essential Functions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Driving (75%/day) and navigating the cities in your region.
• Entering residential and commercial property to read meters and disconnect service.
• Interacting with customers to collect payment or to read the electric meter.
• Collecting cash, and other forms of payment for electric service and reconciling, reporting, and depositing drops daily.
• Working with energized electric equipment to disconnect service.
• Understanding customer service representative with a responsibility to humility and to the customers we serve.
• Working with pride and a high quality of workmanship.
• Performs other duties assigned.

Success Factors:

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills

Experience and Education:

• Two (2 ) plus years of customer service experience
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required.
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
