Building Maintenance

C Shift - Friday through Sunday 5AM - 5PM (Training on 1st Shift 7AM - 3PM Monday through Friday)

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Maintains a neat, clean and orderly work environment. Assists general production in material movement and manufacturing processes. Works independently on regularly scheduled tasks with periodic interaction with manager, supervisor or leader to describe progress on assignments. Work is guided by established company policy and quality requirements of customers. Work does not involve direction or supervision of other employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:
General educational background with both written and verbal communication skills typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience preferred.

DUTIES:

• Run Shavings
• Clean mop buckets
• Run oil separator
• Put material at machines
• Check shavings trailer and roll-offs (both plants)
• Check wet room (air compressor)
• Remove pallets and cardboard
• Empty grinder paper dump hopper
• Run floor scrubber (both plants)
• Empty garbage bailer
• Check water softener and add salt
• Change dunk wash tanks
• Empty scrap dump hopper
• Empty scrap pans
• Empty shavings
• Empty part tubes at extractors (all 3)
• Shaving system PM
• Spin brass shavings
• Unload steel
• Run errands
• Change light bulbs
• Snow removal
• Pump oil up
• Clean out machines (clean shavings from Acmes and Torno)
• Sweep and mop floors around Acme, Torno, Index benches (both plants)
• Pick-up rags – both plants
• Special maintenance needs (as needed)
• Follow Management Systems procedures and work instructions
• Participate in SysteManagment meetings on a periodic basis
• Communicate with and assist all departments as needed
• Participate on cross functional teams as needed
• Participate in the continuous improvement, research and recommendations for all operational processes
• Assist in maintaining safe practices for all employees
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment by following the 5S principles
• Complete all other specially assigned tasks or projects

RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND AUTHORITY:

• Support production of profitable product
• Responsible for maintaining building cleanliness requirements
• Responsible for ensuring raw material is available at machines when needed
• Responsible for following FIFO (First In, First Out) requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee will be exposed to the noise, fumes and temperature extremes typically found in a light manufacturing environment. Risk of injury from being in close proximity of operating machinery is possible, but unlikely if proper safety precautions are followed. Lifting requirements for this position dictate that the employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40# on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 50# on an occasional basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.57 - $20.12 per hour
