Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO will provide leadership to this well-established, diversified engineering services organization. This is an outstanding chance to lead and drive growth, taking advantage of an entrepreneurial culture and long tenure within experienced senior leadership ranks. RISE has a strong balance sheet, and the Board is committed to supporting investments to achieve significant growth and increased profitability through organic measures and M&A activity. RISE has successfully begun to re-position its services in response to the market shift in the Northeast region toward decarbonization and sustainable resources. Its core Field Engineering Services (FES) division is enjoying a rebirth as fossil-fuel fired power plants throughout the Midwest, South, and Southwest are being re-fitted instead of retired due to increasing demands for electric power in those regions. This Executive will be afforded the support and resources to transform the business and bring it to new heights.

Position Summary:

  • Develop strategies and implement plans to drive growth and achieve aggressive objectives to maximize the overall operating performance of the Company. This includes People, Safety, Clients, and Profits.
  • Organize the Company's Business Units to enhance synergies. Leverage these units and enhance operational processes and procedures to improve all aspects of operations.
  • As an ESOP, the Company’s stock is held in a Trust. The President & CEO will report to the Board of Directors, and partner with a Trustee selected by the Board.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the overall financial, client, people, and safety direction and performance of the Organization.

    • Drive all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall vision and strategy.
    • Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with balanced short-term and long-term objectives.
    • Represent the Company to the public and industry; maintain and enhance the Company’s reputation as it relates to public and private opportunities.
    • Perform competitive analysis, evaluate potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers; make investment decisions to advance the business and increase profits.
    • Lead a high-performing managerial team; lead and motivate subordinates to advance employee engagement. Engage in effective succession planning.
    • Maintain a high-performance culture. Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and policies to maintain the Company’s legality and business ethics.
    • Further efforts to break down silos and capitalize on resources across the business units to capture new clients that may not otherwise be secured by a single unit alone.
    • Remain attentive to current IT systems to ensure technology is used as a competitive advantage, promotes efficiency, and protects the Organization.
    • Energize over 600 total employee-owners and add key hires to support the business strategy.
  • Documented track record of driving growth and profitability in a senior executive position or as President/ CEO in a mechanical and/or energy/engineering services environment
  • An established history of working within the utility and/or power generation industry is preferred
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  • Working familiarity with diverse business functions such as Finance, Marketing, and Public Relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related major. MBA (or equivalent experience).
