What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Data Technician/Fiber Optic Technician position at Rite-Solutions, Inc.?
Rite-Solutions is seeking an organized, reliable, and driven Network Data Technician/Fiber Optic Technician. You will work as part of our field service team to install, troubleshoot, and repair various data/fiber networks, and provide maintenance of a large-scale network/fiber system, ensuring operational status. This is a full time position with work located on-site at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC).
Cable Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, most often involved with internet services
- Install, label and terminate twisted pair cable (Cat6) and fiber optic cabling systems
- Install various support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, Innerduct, and other
Cable Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years experience in installing and terminating twisted pair cable (Cat 6) .
- 3 to 5 years experience in installing and terminating fiber optic cable (single mode and multi mode) using a fiber splicer and terminating ST/SC/LC connectors using a 3M hot melt kit.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of industry standard cable specifications
- Communication skills with the ability to successfully collaborate with other members of the team
- Ability to work at heights and lift 50 pounds
Additional Requirements
- Position requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance with the US government; active security clearance preferred
- Military or government experience preferred but not necessary
- Some Travel required
