The historic Rittenhouse Hotel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping team. As the steward of our establishment's cleanliness and guest satisfaction, the Director of Housekeeping will lead all housekeeping operations, ensuring our standards of excellence are maintained throughout our facilities. Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in the hotel or facility.
• Develop and implement housekeeping systems and procedures in compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control.
• Hire, train, and supervise housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry staff, and janitors.
• Schedule staff shifts and rotations to maintain adequate coverage and service levels while managing labor costs.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
• Investigate and address any guest complaints or issues related to housekeeping services promptly.
• Coordinate with maintenance department to ensure timely repair and upkeep of rooms and facilities.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment, ordering replacements as needed while managing inventory costs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional service within the housekeeping department.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and efficient inter-departmental collaboration.
• Prepare reports on housekeeping operations, including productivity, guest satisfaction, and inventory levels

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of housekeeping management experience. 
• Must have previous housekeeping management experience in a luxury brand hotel
• Proven track record of managing a diverse team of housekeeping staff
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop team members
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment
• Experience in budget management, inventory control, and procurement of housekeeping supplies
• Proficient in the use of housekeeping management software and systems
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations and the ability to ensure compliance among staff
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality cleanliness and presentation standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests, staff, and management
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
• Certification from a recognized housekeeping or hospitality organization is preferred

Work Environment and Context

• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends or occasional alternate shifts.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
