ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
- Administer medications to residents adhering to the 5 rights
- Use electronic medical record for documentation
- Follow facility policies and procedures, including to but not limited into: HIPAA, infection prevention, and reporting to management
- Answer signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine residents' needs and ensures call lights are within reach of resident
- Ensures that residents' who are unable to call for help are checked hourly
- Give direct care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Explain procedures before performing any care
- Assist residents as necessary in their activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions
- Assist with safe lifts, repositionings, and transfers to the bed, chair, shower, and/or wheelchair
- Handle linens according to infection control guidelines
- Assist with feeding while accurately recording intake and outputs
- Review and implement daily nursing needs as outlined by the resident care plan
- Record temperatures, blood pressure, pulse rates, respiration rates, height, and weight
- Monitors resident's activities and reports any irregularities of resident performance to nurse managers
- Clean instruments and equipment before, during, and after use making note of contamination
- Provide post-mortem care as instructed
- Participatesand attend periodic in-services and staff meetings.
- Understand and adheres to all resident rights
- Perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS:
Kentucky Medication Aide (KMA) certification obtained and verified by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Active cardiopulmonary pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aide that must be maintained. 2 years prior experience preferred.
Salary : $30,700 - $38,900
