Title: Parent Partner

Classification: Full-time
Position Summary: Promote the WV Birth to Three program (WVBTT) by facilitating family engagement and Child Find activities and serving as a liaison between families, community service providers and resources.
Essential Functions
- Maintain working knowledge of available resources within the Regional Administrative Unit’s (RAU) geographical region.
- Link families to necessary resources.
- Represent the perspective of WV Birth to Three families at various meetings and committees.
- Conduct public awareness and Child Find activities in each county of the RAU’s geographical region.
- Develop and maintain a central directory of resources for families.
- Share program news and family involvement activities through multiple outlets.
- Organize and facilitate family engagement activities to connect WV Birth to Three families to each other.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with Service Coordinators, practitioners, and community partners within the Regional Administrative Unit’s geographical service area.
- Traverse various terrain to access visitation sites.
- Remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
Marginal Functions
- Compile and submit reports within established timelines.
- Participate in ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in recruiting practitioners in identified areas of need.
- Participate in all required, committees, conferences, meetings and trainings relevant to the program and/or agency.
- Respond to any inquiries within a timely manner.
- Oversee assistive technology.
- Any other duties as assigned.

Education
- Required: High School diploma/GED
Experience
- Required: Parent of a child with special needs who received Part C and/or Part B IDEA services.
- Preferred: Experience organizing large scale community/public events.
Employment Conditions
- Successfully clearing the background check process, which may include: criminal background check, education verification, references, drug testing, motor vehicle records, sex offender registry, Child Protective Services check, and federal grants debarred list.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Able to travel extensively; requires the need for flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Adhere to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Code of Ethics.
- Business casual apparel.
Environmental Conditions
- Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to temperature changes at least fifty percent (50%) of the time.
- Prolonged sitting at a desk viewing a computer screen and keyboard typing.
- Frequent face-to-face, electronic, and virtual interactions with internal and external customers.
- Extensive driving throughout the geographical region under all weather conditions.
- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Public contact position.
- This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week following a successful 90-day review.
Physical Demands
- Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.

- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
