Description
A Crop Specialist supports the retail agronomy sales efforts of the account manager by selling seed, crop protection products, crop nutrients, precision ag products and services in a well- established cooperative setting.
What You'll Do:
- Support the sales efforts throughout an assigned territory to determine agronomy needs, create solutions, and build long term relationships with customers that will generate sales of seed, nutrients, crop protection products, and agronomy services to meet specified goals.
- Work with Agronomy Account Managers to develop and maintain a list of customers & prospects and deliver value to those customers in a variety of diverse ways.
- Engage in proper sales behaviors such as on farm calls, follow up meetings, prospect calls, scouting fields, and gaining referrals.
- Work with Agronomy Managers in the assigned region to execute on territory plans for the assigned area.
- Utilize current marketing programs, products, services, and resources to position agronomy products ethically.
- Ensure that all required paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Supply management with oral and written reports on market intelligence, customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Coordinate sales support efforts with agronomy account managers, marketing, sales management, accounting, coordination, technical service, and operations groups.
- Respond to all inquiries and requests in a timely manner.

Qualifications
What You'll bring:
- Associate degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- 3 to 5 years of agronomy experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain class B CDL and Hazmat permit
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to dust, noise, heat, cold, ag chemicals, and vapors, and moving machinery. May be required to work long hours, as well as work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
