Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our church facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a comprehensive understanding of commercial facilities management, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, and project management. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure the efficient functioning of all facility systems while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Duties
- Maintenance Oversight: Developing and maintaining a schedule for the regular upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds, including cleaning, repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Event Preparation: Ensuring that facilities are set up and ready for regular church and Early Learning Center programs and special events, in coordination with Church Administrator. Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs. (mostly tables and chairs)
- Supply Management: Keeping track of and maintaining necessary cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- On-Site Representation: Acting as the liaison for the Buildings and Grounds committee during contracted repair or improvement projects.
- Inspections and Recommendations: Regularly inspecting the facilities and identifying maintenance and safety needs, submitting recommendations for repairs that require specialized skills. Completing minor repairs and maintenance.
- Budget Assistance: Collaborating with the Buildings and Grounds Committee to prepare the annual budget for capital improvements and repairs.
- Contract Management: Submitting recommendations for routine and emergency contract services as needed.
- Coordination of Services: Working with external landscaping and maintenance services to ensure the grounds are properly maintained.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all facilities comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Communication: Acting as the point of contact for facility-related inquiries and issues from staff, church members, and outside vendors. Attend weekly staff meetings, usually Tuesday mornings. Create weekly summaries of work.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities management, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in maintenance tasks for commercial buildings (heating, cooling, lighting, plumbing, sewage, etc.).
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Familiarity with project management principles related to facility operations.
- Proficient in English with excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff, church leaders, and contractors.
Education
High school diploma, associates degree or bachelor's degree.
Compensation
Hourly pay with a range of 10-15 hours per week.
