As a member of the healthcare team here at Riverview Health, the Pharmacy Technician demonstrates active patient advocacy to ensure all rights are identified and met for every patient. The Pharmacy Technician encompasses all duties relating to providing exemplary customer service at Riverview Health. Outstanding customer service skills and understanding of confidentiality and productivity are required by the Pharmacy Technician.
Pharmacy Technician Job Functions:
- Assist pharmacist in all phases of the medication distribution process
- Assist pharmacist in filling medical orders and prescriptions
- Preparation of IV admixtures
- Charge and delivery to nursing units
- Stock pharmacy medication and supplies
- Obtains medication histories from Emergency Room and admitted patients
Pharmacy Technician Job Requirements:
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or the equivalent and pharmacy technician licensure
- Minimum Experience: 1 year experience preferred
- Certification: national certification desired upon hire; must be completed within 1 year of employment
- Preferred: 1 year of pharmacy tech experience with Pyxis or Omnicell functions; 1 year of experience with retail pharmacy operations
