What you’ll be working on:
People:
- Manage day to day warehouse and logistics operations including hiring, developing and managing the staff
- Develop daily task/job lists, set appropriate expectations and ensure they are completed.
- Ensure team members are meeting daily objectives such as orders are filled and completed within the time requirements executed.
Tool Shop, Warehousing, Site Management:
- Create policies and procedures for warehousing and logistics activities.
- Train staff in roles and responsibilities.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, operational logs and safety records.
- Problem resolution regarding warehousing, tool shop, fleet and shipping operations.
- Direct tool shop, receiving and shipping operations to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness objectives.
- Collaborate with other business functions to ensure customer requirements and productivity is achieved.
- Manage layout of warehouse and site to ensure efficient and effective use of space.
- Adherence to all warehousing, tool shop, and job related health and safety regulations.
- Manage stock to ensure optimal availability of material and tools without compromising on excessive stock.
- Plan work, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.
- Monitor quality of services provided.
- Maintain an organized work environment.
- Control documentation of all activities.
- Control communication to field and shops on order status.
- Manage the receiving of inventory.
- Control equipment maintenance and repairs as required.
- Work with job sites on tool inventory management.
- Schedule of tool inventories/audits.
- Manage job closings / reconciled lost equipment prior to close out.
- Manage the Inspection process and ensure all equipment is in safe and proper operating conditions prior to assigning/shipping to a site.
Fleet Management:
- Manage fleet operations and safety of the fleet.
- Manage the fleet maintenance program.
- Manage fleet GPS system/reporting.
- Manage fleet lease/ renewals/ purchases/ sales of retired vehicles.
- Manage fleet registrations and insurance.
- Complete insurance claims and coordinate auto body repairs.
What is expected of a Logistics Manager:
- Indirect supervision.
- Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area.
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standards.
- Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
- Independently performs most assignments with instruction
- Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards.
- College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
- 3 years’ experience managing tool or parts shop/rental facility
- 1 years’ experience fleet management
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing a team
- Any Viewpoint software experience a plus

- RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, shop specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 10.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
- Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
- Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
- Work in all types of weather.
- Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
- Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
