Key Responsibilities:
- Landside Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of public areas, including mowing, planting, mulching, and trash removal. Ensure that sidewalks, parking areas, and public spaces are clean, safe, and attractive.
- Airfield Maintenance: Conduct essential tasks such as repairing paved areas, removing Foreign Object Debris (FOD), and managing snow and ice. Your work ensures that our airfield remains compliant with safety regulations.
- Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain a variety of tools and machinery. Assist with building repairs, perform basic electrical and plumbing tasks, and ensure all equipment is in excellent working order.
- Safety & Security: Adhere to safety policies, report hazards, and maintain a clean work area. Your vigilance helps prevent accidents and maintains a safe environment for all airport users.
Who We're Looking For:
- Hands-On Skills: Experience with operating various equipment and tools is preferred. You should be comfortable handling everything from mowers and snow plows to hand tools and power equipment.
- Problem Solver: Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on mechanical and electrical systems is essential.
- Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail in performing maintenance tasks and following safety procedures.
- Team Player: Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to achieve common goals.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of experience in equipment operation and maintenance preferred.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems is a plus. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully.
- Special Requirements: Valid Virginia driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days. Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to handle physical tasks and work in various weather conditions.
