This is Advanced Practice Provider position responsible for providing health care to students.
Reporting to the Director of the Student Health Center (SHC), this position includes the delivery of routine preventative care and education for RIT students as well as caring for acute health needs in diverse areas such as STI evaluation and treatment, mental health evaluation and management, wound assessment and treatment and other acute illnesses. As a member of the RIT-SHC team, participation in standing committees related to clinical care and operational aspects of the SHC are essential components of the work.

This is Advanced Practice Provider position responsible for providing health care to students.
Reporting to the Director of the Student Health Center (SHC), this position includes the delivery of routine preventative care and education for RIT students as well as caring for acute health needs in diverse areas such as STI evaluation and treatment, mental health evaluation and management, wound assessment and treatment and other acute illnesses. As a member of the RIT-SHC team, participation in standing committees related to clinical care and operational aspects of the SHC are essential components of the work.
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct physical and psychosocial care to students including comprehensive evaluation, plan of care and patient education.
- Serves the RIT student population though development and implementation of health education programming as well as collaboration with other disciplines internal and external to the Student Health Center for coordination of comprehensive care.
- May participate in Student Health Center on-going professional development, quality of care activities, committee responsibilities related to AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), University/Division Strategic Plans and other quality improvement initiatives.
- May act as the SHC Assessment Coordinator liaison to the Student Affairs Assessment Manager, coordinating and managing assessment planning for the unit. Acts as the unit workspace manager for the assessment management system, submitting assessment plans and documents, updating progress on assessment plans and the unit strategic plan, managing the workflow of assessment tasks and communicating related information to necessary individuals in the unit.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Requirements:
- Certification, professional license, or credential: New York State License to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or as a Physician Assistant (PA)
- DEA license eligibility - Must be maintained in good standing
- CPR certification- Must be maintained in good standing
- 3-5 years relevant clinical experience, with a focus in adult, family, adolescent, college health or other primary care area
- Experience with one or more electronic health record systems
- Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately
- Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals
- Effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural audiences
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office functionality including PowerPoint, word processing and excel
- Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn
- Ability to work one 11 am to 7 pm shift per week during academic semesters
- Sign Language fluency
- Masters Degree in health related field
- Experience with managing and communicating assessment related information, using assessment related software
