SUMMARY
Follows Universal Pre Kindergarten curriculum and supervises assistant teacher and volunteers.
STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Park Ridge Child Care Center
SCHEDULE: Day Shift (Mon-Fri 6:30 am-3 pm)
*Note: this is a 12 month position, not a 9 month typical teacher position*
ATTRIBUTES
BS or MS NYS N-6 or Childbirth-2nd grade
two years at the pre-kindergarten or kindergarten levelRequired Licensure/Certification Skills:
NYS Teacher Certification preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, manages and evaluates a developmentally appropriate learning environment for the children and families served.
- Creates an environment that supports children's growth and development.
- Follows the UPK curriculum from the Greece Central School District to provide weekly plans which meet individual as well as group needs.
- Maintains accurate individual records for each child and uses them to set goals for individual children.
- Establishes and achieves annual goals for classroom.
- Develops and maintains a positive relationship with all of the children and their families.
EDUCATION:
- MS: Early Childhood Education (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $18.75 - $26.00
