Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) will work full-time at Harpers Place, a 15-bed residential unit that operates as a 24-hour hospital diversion program for adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The BHT will provide direct care to clients, monitor their physical and emotional well-being, and respond to their needs and concerns. They will work under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to help clients achieve recovery.

Responsibilities

• Supervise client behaviors and activities at all times
• Monitor physical and emotional well-being of clients
• Respond to all patient needs and concerns
• Record observations regarding client behavior, mental status, and care
• Report observations to treatment staff
• Provide input for treatment plans
• Implement goals of treatment plans
• Encourage or assist as needed with personal hygiene care and other activities of daily living
• Administer medications and maintain records in accordance with specified procedures
• Transport clients to appointments as needed
• Plan and implement recreational and educational individual and group activities as assigned by treatment staff
• Supervise visitation activities, including checking visitors, checking for contraband, and monitoring behavior during visits
• Responsible for keeping work area clean, tidy, and in order
• Admit and discharge clients
• Monitor vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressure
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 18 of age
• Must pass TB test, urine drug test, physical test, caregiver and criminal history background check
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Experience in behavioral health preferred
