We are a small community primary care practice in Melbourne, providing health care and wellness with a personal touch. We're currently seeking a new team member who can work at the front desk and support as a medical assistant as well. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service in a friendly, innovative healthcare environment. This is a perfect role for an outgoing, upbeat person who enjoys building relationships and meeting new people.
This is an ideal role for a new or aspiring medical assistant with 1 year or less experience to work the front desk and learn clinical skills to build into a longer term role as a medical assistant (and beyond!).

Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival and provide assistance as needed.
- Review patient charts and coordinate referrals and results.
- Perform administrative tasks in support of patient care.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient care.
- Handle incoming calls, directing inquiries to the primary care provider and facilitating patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance overall patient experience and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical assisting is a plus.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
- Friendly personality and comfort talking and engaging regularly with patients daily both in person in the office and on the phone.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and administrative support systems is an asset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks or screenings as per facility policies.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
