Summary of Duties: Included, but are not limited to the following
- Ensures that all patrons and guests receive exemplary customer service and enjoy an outstanding experience at all golf facilities of the Rockford Park District through the direct interaction with the customers and through the teamwork and cooperation with other staff members in a courteous and tactful manner
- Greet patrons (by name whenever possible) before they acknowledge you. Welcome patrons to the facility and thank them when they leave, in a professional, courteous manner
- Must be fiscally responsible and able to accurately execute and maintain financial transactions and records. Implementing cash transaction according to the Rockford Park District standards.
- Perform cash handling operations through the Rockford Park Districts point of sale system
- Possession of or ability to obtain a- Illinois BASSET Certification and Serv-Safe Certification for food and beverage concessions (may be attained after hiring). Required to Follow all food sanitation guidelines and procedures at all times
- Maintains familiarity with the District’s Quality Assurance Statement
- Knowledgeable of all Rockford Park District Policies and Procedures and consistent in following through with them in a professional manner
- Distribute beverages and/or food according to applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by RPD management
- Knowledge of the golf industry and/or food and beverage industry, course etiquette and rules
- Develop through knowledge of all menu items, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Follow food sanitation guidelines and procedures when prepping, cooking, grilling and serving food
- Prepare and assemble menu items as per the specification following food safety guide lines, responsible for: taking food & beverage orders (one-on-one or phone), preparing food, making drinks both non-alcoholic and alcoholic, maintain and organize stock of food & beverages
- Maintain accurate par levels for Alcohol, Food and Beverages to accommodate daily needs
- Communicate food & beverage inventory needs, supplies, concerns and questions with operations manager
- Cross train to provide backup for Golf Course Beverage Cart Attendant
- Gaming room responsibility: all equipment in video game room area. Responsible for maintaining order and cleanliness in the area. Adhere to age restrictions; must be 21 and older to enter gaming room
- Offer food & beverage service and relate well with customers in the gaming area, must have a friendly personality combined with superior interpersonal and communication skills. An important skill is the ability to stay alert and keep a keen eye out for issues that can create problems. Strong problem-solving skills to address any conflicts and ensure players are satisfied with the outcome.
- Another duty of gaming attendants is to ensure gaming terminals are in good condition. Contact maintenance personnel if a machine is malfunctioning.
- Maintains and keeps all working areas attractive, neat and clean performing general cleaning, including but not limited to dusting, cleaning tables, vacuuming clubhouse floors, mopping, and emptying trash receptacles
- Opens and closes the facility according to established policies and procedures
- Self-starter, self-motivated, adaptable, able to work with minimal directions and unsupervised
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all co-workers to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate to help keep high moral and productivity
- Attends all departmental trainings and meetings
- Understands and has the ability to follow and implement the Rockford Park District’s Emergency Response Plan
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to be considered for position
- This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job responsibilities. A valid driver’s license is required. Must have reliable transportation, work will fluctuate between various facilities throughout the Park District
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and evenings with a positive, enthusiastic outlook in a fast pace atmosphere
- Ability to provide customers with expert care, sensitive consideration, and efficient service
- Must have skill to exercise good independent judgment in assessing situations and making decisions
- Good oral communication skills
- Must have good organizational skills
- Cash handling experience a plus
- Bilingual language abilities a plus
- Creative and energetic ability
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Park District employees
- Good Interpersonal skills which include working effectively as a team player
- Strong work ethic required
