- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Performs all landscaping necessary to supplement existing mowing, and athletic field contracts, for all District properties including tree trimming and removal and mowing.
- Maintains stadium sites.
- Collects and disposes of all leaves, limbs, and refuse.
- Removes snow from all District parking lots, in conjunction with existing snow removal contract, and playgrounds and sands and salts all District parking lots and playgrounds.
- Maintains, repairs, and stripes all District parking lots and playgrounds.
- Performs layout, excavates, assembles, and maintains playground structures.
- Performs complete mechanical and preventive maintenance of all power equipment.
- Operates heavy equipment, including end loaders, backhoes, graders, bucket trucks, skid loaders, rollers, etc.
- Performs structural demolition as required (interior and exterior).
- Moves outbuildings, mobile homes, and machinery.
- Performs complete cement work; including forming flatwork, stoops, sign bases, ramps,
- Performs fence installation and maintenance.
- Provide layout, fabrication, and installation of sports equipment and scoreboards.
- Install and maintains exterior informational signs and perform trenching for posts.
- Repairs manholes and storm sewer drain, including brickwork.
- Performs flagpole installation and maintenance.
- Performs graffiti removal, including sandblasting, power washing, and chemical removal techniques.
- Performs welding and fabrication services on vehicles and equipment.
- Grades, levels, and installs drainage systems, culverts, headwalls, and areaways.
- Repairs and/or replaces parking lot and stadium lighting.
- Assists trades and custodial department as required.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: This position maintains the grounds of all District properties in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness and acts as support services for all trades and custodial supervisors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience or training. Must maintain a Class “B” CDL driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
