What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Assistant position at Rockland Federal Credit Union?
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Assistant supports the maintenance, operations, and activities of the Credit Union at all its locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the Credit Union's buildings, grounds and equipment are clean, safe and properly maintained by performing general and light maintenance, and routine maintenance of facility grounds.
- Assists with maintenance of internal offices and furnishings, which includes moving and assembling office furniture, supplies, lighting maintenance, and related tasks.
- Supports records management (e.g., storage, retrieval, removal, destruction) including transport and destruction of documents.
- Assists with supplies management including inventorying, orders and processing, handling, and distribution.
- Provides support to the Information Technology team, as needed, with equipment installations
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent (associate degree, technical degree, or apprenticeship program preferred)
- Two (2) or more years' facilities experience preferred
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite preferred
- Ability to resolve routine and complex maintenance problems quickly and efficiently
- Basic understanding of facilities systems and controls (e.g., HVAC)
- Strong interpersonal/communication and teamwork skills
- Schedule flexibility requiring "off hours" and irregular hours to ensure timely branch/office openings and operations
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Indoor and outdoor physical activity is required, in all types of weather.
- Physical demands range from walking, standing, bending/stooping, crawling, climbing steps, to lifting/carrying/moving items up to 50 pounds.
- Requires ability to respond to ad hoc after-hours urgent facilities/maintenance situations.
