What are the responsibilities and job description for the K - 5 ELA Interventionist position at Rocky Mount Prep?
POSITION TITLE: K - 5 ELA Interventionist
FLSA: Exempt professional
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month employee based on board approved school calendar
REPORTS TO: Director of Instruction
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Three years teaching experience in a classroom setting
* Bachelors degree in education or related field, Masters preferred
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and scholars
* Possess a strong understanding of the English language, spelling, and proper grammar
* Evidence of improved scholar academic performance
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Gather, organize, and interpret data to assess scholars' reading strengths and areas of growth.
2. Utilize best practice instructional strategies and research-based intervention curriculum to design intervention plans detailing methods to address scholar's learning needs.
3. Work with teachers to create lesson plans that include intervention strategies.
4. Serve on the campus/district Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team.
5. Model the use of intervention strategies to general and special education teachers.
6. Maintain accurate scholar records and progress data reports to share with parents.
7. Serve as Section 504 team member.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

2. Create and maintain a safe and orderly environment that is conducive to learning.
3. Manage and order materials that are needed to support program goals.
4. Collaborate with Director of Instruction to promote an interest in reading.
