Position Description
- Production Assistant Wage: $18-$19/hr, DOE
Non-Exempt. Full-Time M-F Benefits: Health Insurance, PTO
Position Purpose
To perform the appropriate tasks related to support of product manufacturing, process equipment/facility maintenance and inventory control. Expected to support production in accordance with the Assistant’s level of training/experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with large-scale biologicals and media supplement production, operation of filtration systems, operation and monitoring of protein-processing equipment.
- Work and perform tasks in a manner that assures compliance to in-house and/or external specifications to standards such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or International Organization of Standardization (ISO) regulations.
- Complete trainings as assigned by Quality Assurance to ensure adherence to company quality policies.
- Monitor & perform facility maintenance per company sanitation, maintenance schedule.
- Assist production technicians and supervisor in performance of all necessary maintenance and process tasks.
- GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Basic computer skills
- Must have good command of basic math and the English language, both written and verbal.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with other groups (e.g. Quality Control, R&D, Management etc.) to support project work,
- Ability to perform project work independently.
- Ability to assist in solving issues in daily operations as they arise.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Duties frequently performed in production environment where physical conditions such as noise, heat, dampness, or cold are encountered. Duties require substantial physical exertion and will include lifting items up to 50 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability and desire to learn about protein manufacturing and laboratory safety practices. Ability and desire to develop a basic technical knowledge GMP manufacturing, obtained through formal and/or informal education.
WORK STRUCTURE AND ENVIRONMENT
Work closely with the Production Manager, Technicians and Assistants Work with Quality Assurance and Quality Control departments to ensure process and product meet specifications and standards.
In performing the essential functions of this job, employees will work with manufacturing equipment, bovine/porcine blood serum and hazardous chemicals. Proper attire and adherence to safety protocols is required.
Employees are required to cultivate an environment of quality & compliance. This includes attending all required training, adhering to the processes & procedures of their role and the company and displaying the highest level of integrity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
