Position Purpose
This position ensures case managers have what they need to provide case management services to members as assigned. The supervisor guides and monitors the work of case managers so that members receiving services have the best quality case management. The supervisor is a leader in the organization that exemplifies excellent performance, customer service, and professional behaviors while implementing programmatic goals and initiatives.
Essential Duties
- Leads, guides, and coaches a team of case managers.
- Ensures case managers have the training needed to perform the duties of their job.
- Ensures case managers use required tools to assist with organization and time management.
- Meets with case managers assigned on their team at least monthly to problem solve concerns, review performance, and discuss goals.
- Monitors the completion and quality of work through required reviews.
- Addresses any complaints or feedback from stakeholders within two business days of receipt or sooner based on urgency.
- Completes any requested follow up to ensure members and providers have what they need to receive services.
- Shadows and/or attends in-person meetings with the case managers on their team as needed. May step in for case managers when needed.
- Attends stakeholder meetings and supports case managers who have complex situations.
- May serve on stakeholder committee meetings to represent RMHS and share information with RMHS.
- Conducts interviews and makes decisions regarding hiring new employees.
- Completes annual performance reviews for case managers to provide constructive feedback.
- Writes and presents performance improvement plans when needed while working with program leadership and human resources.
- Responsible for organizing, managing, and assigning work to case management teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Communicates professionally and empathetically both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge, understanding, and competency about members who have disabilities and/or members who are elderly.
- Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and teach staff supervised to manage their time in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to speak calmly and help de-escalate their team or members who may be upset by showing care and compassion.
- Analytical and decisive to guide a team and individual case managers.
- Ability to attend in-person meetings with case managers.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of long-term care service and support (LTSS) programs and/or case management services.
- Practices emotional intelligence.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to navigate member management systems.
- Ability to represent RMHS’ mission, vision, and values.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree; or
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of LTSS, which includes intellectual and developmental disabilities; or
- Some combination of education and relevant experience appropriate to the requirements of the position.
Driving Category - Requirements
Driving Category B:
Employees who may drive RMHS or personal vehicles for business purposes. Category B employees may transport other employees but will not transport RMHS members.
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of motor vehicle insurance
- Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work, including transporting individuals
- No major violations in the past three years.
- No more than two moving violations in the past three years
- Ability to meet and maintain agency driving requirements and operate agency vehicles
- Drivers must upload proof of ongoing auto insurance every 6 months into Paycom/Relias.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in social work, psychology, sociology or other human services
- One year of supervisory or progressively responsible experience.
