Job Summary
A well established accredited Sleep Lab is in need of a Medical Receptionist to work in a team environment with a busy and growing practice. This individual should be motivated, possess a high level of character with great customer service skills. Duties include scheduling of outpatient sleep studies, obtaining insurance verification and prior authorizations, greeting patients, collecting payments, answering phones, faxing and scanning reports. Individual should have great organizational skills be reliable, flexible and help the practice run efficiently.
Responsibilities and Duties
Job will consist of:
- Answer incoming calls in a customer friendly and professional manner
- Determine the purpose and request of the call and proceed appropriately
- Schedule sleep studies for multiple locations
- Schedule the appropriate appointment for the diagnosis
- Document the appointment in the appropriate scheduling system.
- Ensure scheduling of appointments is done accurately and timely.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information and update information as needed.
- Reschedule appointments per provider specifics and record proper scheduling information.
- Review daily schedule for accuracy and completeness.
- Complete daily tasks
- Assist coworkers as needed with tasks as requested/assigned.
- Interact with all patients and coworkers in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional environment.
- Perform all other job duties as directed by the manager.
Qualifications and Skills
Computer literacy, medical terminology, medical office experience or medical scheduling experience, insurance verification and preauthorization experience preferred. EMR experience a plus.

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
