What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Rolfson Oil?
Rolfson Oil, LLC (RO) is seeking an Assistant Controller to provide support for all accounting functions of the company. RO engages in distribution and transportation of fuel as well as oils and lubricants.
This position will work in our Addison, TX office and reports to our Controller, with a dotted line to upper management. Responsibilities will include assisting the Controller in directing the organization’s accounting functions including payables, receivables, revenue, expenses, inventory, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Key duties include:
· Provide support for all accounting functions for the business;
· Ensure that financial information is produced accurately and timely;
· Provide input to strategic decisions that affect policies and procedures and internal controls.
· Become an expert in systems used to run each business (we use QuickBooks for accounting, each business has its own operations related ordering software);
· Review reporting of monthly state and federal fuel and gross receipts tax returns;
· Preparation of monthly financials and consolidations and identify/resolve any discrepancies found;
· Ensure compliance with all state and other reporting requirements, assisting with various audits as needed;
· Perform special projects as requested by management; and perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· CPA is preferred
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting
· Six years plus experience with a mix of public and private accounting preferred.
· A consistent track record of meeting closing and other deadlines
· Highly organized with keen attention to detail
· Strong knowledge of US GAAP
· Results and goals oriented, capable of working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Base salary: $110,000
Job Type: Full-time
