Rolling Hills Developmental Center -
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for washing dishes and keeping assigned area cleaned. Aids and assists in the dietary department as directed by Dietetic Service Director and / or Cook in accordance with established policies and procedures, applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Washes dishes according to established procedures for manual and / or automatic dishwashing.
Stores dishes, etc., in the proper location in a way to prevent contamination.
Ensures that dishes, etc. are readily available for next meal.
Documents dish machine temperatures, cleaning duties, etc., as assigned.
Reports any problems with proper water temperature or sanitizer to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Cleans dishwasher area, kitchen equipment and dietary area as directed or assigned.
Performs assigned cleaning assignments according to established policies and utilizing the proper cleaning chemicals.
Cleans and sanitizes carts.
Maintains the security of the department.
Ensures that the department is maintained in a safe manner according to established policies.
Reports all hazardous conditions / equipment to the supervisor and / or maintenance department.
Reports all malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor and / or maintenance department.
Reports all accidents / incidents as established by department and / or facility policies.
Complete all work assignments within scheduled time frames.
Adheres to departmental dress code.
Develops and maintains a good working relationship and cooperative attitude with intra-departmental personnel, as well as, other department / personnel within the facility.
Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as, a calm environment throughout the department.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Supervisor.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports to the Dietetic Service Director and / or other supervisors (i.e. cook) as designated by the Dietetic Service Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Must possess as a minimum, a 10
grade education.
EXPERIENCE
None required. On-the-Job training provided.
