What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocations Program Coordinator position at Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse?
SUMMARY: This position supports the Office of Vocations in its efforts to encourage and support the parishes and schools in creating and maintaining a culture of vocations and to guide those aspiring to vocations to the priesthood or consecrated religious life as they seek to pursue their calling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Research and share best practices for fostering vocations in parishes and schools.
· Coordinate ongoing training in promoting vocations in parishes, schools, catechetical programs, youth ministry programs and others involved in work with children and young people.
· Maintain ongoing contact with each of the parishes, including faithfully reviewing the minutes of the individual parish vocation ministry teams.
· Serve as the Office of Vocations liaison to the various vocation ministry teams in our parish es and schools.
· Perform all administrative functions relating to the Vocations Ministry Plan in the promotion of all vocations and, in particular, the promotion of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life.
· Coordinate and facilitate, in support of the Director of Vocation Promotion, the planning, scheduling and execution of vocation promotion related events, including but not limited to visits to parishes, schools, campus ministry programs, youth ministry programs, and parish catechetical programs. Other activities include college activities, prayer gatherings, days of recollection, discernment programs or retreats, retreats, seminary visits, and visits to communities of consecrated life.
· Keep the “events calendar” updated on the diocesan website with vocation events/activities as well as the diocesan communications calendar and internal calendar.
· Process ATP for all Vocation Promotion invoices including maintain ATP and expense report files.
· Process expense reports and reimbursements for Director of Vocation Promotion as well as the Associate Director of Vocation Promotion.
· Check and respond to emails sent to official diocesan vocations email account.
· Prepare invoices for dioceses participating in NYS Discernment Retreat.
· Process deposits for checks and donations received.

The Diocesan Vocations Program Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Vocation Promotion and the Associate Director of Vocation Promotion. The Diocesan Vocations Program Coordinator will collaborate with the Catholic Schools Office, the Office of Child & Family Catechesis, the Office of Adolescent Catechesis & Discipleship, the Office of Liturgy, Campus Ministry, and clergy from time to time.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong knowledge of and commitment to living the Catholic faith and strong administrative, organizational, presentation, and relationship skills. Must have proficient computer skills and excellent communication skills.
