Position Overview:
The Sales Manager – Commercial Flooring will lead and manage a team of commercial sales representatives across multiple states. This role is responsible for driving regional and national sales initiatives, supporting the sales team to meet and exceed targets, and cultivating new business opportunities in diverse commercial markets. The Sales Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Support Services and Commercial Flooring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support a geographically dispersed team of sales representatives.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the company’s commercial flooring footprint across multiple industries.
- Set performance goals and monitor results, providing coaching and guidance to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Collaborate with internal departments including operations, support, and installation teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform sales strategies and product offerings.
- Foster relationships with key commercial clients, including general contractors, property managers, architects, and designers.
- Maintain connections with product vendor representatives, remaining abreast of the newest products available and negotiating the lowest prices.
- Oversee training and onboarding of new sales team members.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates to the Vice President.
- Travel to regional offices, job sites, and client meetings as needed (up to 25–40%).
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in commercial construction, flooring, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of managing successful sales teams and achieving revenue targets.
- Strong knowledge of commercial flooring products and installation processes is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel and manage a multi-state territory.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, sales reporting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
