Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging lessons in General Science and Biology aligned with New York State Learning Standards.
- Foster a positive, inquiry-based classroom culture that supports critical thinking and scientific literacy.
- Use differentiated instruction and hands-on learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Integrate topics such as life systems, ecology, human biology, cell biology, and the scientific method in a developmentally appropriate way.
- Assess student understanding through varied formative and summative assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including special education and support staff, to promote academic success in inclusive settings.
- Maintain regular communication with families and participate in parent conferences, team meetings, and school events.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practices and curriculum implementation.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State General Science 7-12 Teaching Certification. Biology Certification or extension is preferred, but not required.
- Strong content knowledge in biology and general science at the middle school level.
- Experience with differentiated instruction, student-centered learning, and classroom management.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
- Effective communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Salary starting at $52,389.00. Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
