Position Overview:
The Family Services & Program Intern will play a key role in supporting the organization’s community engagement efforts. This position offers hands-on experience in volunteer recruitment, training, and retention within a non-profit setting. The ideal candidate will be a college student or recent graduate with a strong interest in mission, community engagement, and volunteerism.
Time Commitment and Location:
A flexible yet consistent commitment of 8-12 hours per week is expected. The on-site position is located at Ronald McDonald House in Ann Arbor at 1600 Washington Heights near Mott Children’s Hospital.
Benefits:
This is an unpaid opportunity designed to provide a professional experience. Interns are not considered employees and are not eligible for employee benefits. Academic credit can be given to current students who qualify through their college or university.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in creating and implementing a robust volunteer recruitment plan.
· Support Family Services & Program Coordinator in daily tasks.
· Participate in community engagement efforts as assigned.
· Support family engagement activities
· Perform other duties as assigned to support the Family Services & Program team.
Qualifications:
· College student or recent graduate majoring in Business, Social Work, Non-Proft Management, or a related field.
· Professional attitude and appearance.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to work well both collaboratively and independently.
· Experience with Canva and Microsoft 365.
