Job Summary:
Roo Lan Health and Rehab is seeking a passionate and experienced Nurse and CNA Educator to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for training and developing all incoming and current nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our staff are confident, competent, and up to date with both internal policies and evolving state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train and onboard all new nursing department hires (Nurses and CNAs)
- Provide re-education and retraining for current staff as needed
- Lead individual and group workshops, seminars, and practical trainings
- Conduct training sessions to prepare staff for state surveys and compliance audits
- Run real-life scenario-based simulations to help staff manage difficult or sensitive situations
- Educate staff on the importance of accurate charting and documentation
- Keep staff informed on updates and changes in Washington state healthcare regulations
- Sign off on staff readiness before new hires begin working on the floor
- Maintain training records and assist with ongoing professional development for all nursing staff
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of Washington (Required)
- BSN
- Minimum 2 years of experience in skilled nursing or long-term care (Preferred)
- Experience as a nurse educator or staff trainer (Preferred)
- Strong understanding of state survey processes and nursing compliance
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling
- Passion for education, staff development, and quality patient care
- Strong background in adult education principles and effective teaching methodologies.
- Familiarity with medical documentation processes and standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage learners effectively.
- Experience in training & development within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- A solid understanding of patient care practices and medical terminology is essential.
