In 2022, we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in California, Texas, and New York as well as many remote opportunities. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors). In 2025, Roofstock took an ownership stake in Casago (short-term rental management services), expanding our platform to support both long-term and short-term rental investment services.

About the Role:

As a Service Technician, you will be a vital part of our Construction Operations team, ensuring not only the maintenance and upkeep of our properties, but also taking on additional responsibilities crucial for the smooth operation of our rental units. This role encompasses hands-on maintenance work with key operational tasks necessary for maintaining properties in a "rent-ready" state.

Responsibilities

• ​Complete routine and preventive maintenance, inspections of units, common areas, and amenities across properties, as directed by internal service requests

• nsures heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are functioning as intended
P
• erform test for proper functionality and have general knowledge of HVAC components
U
• se a variety of hand and power tools
R
• espond to on-call and potentially after hours emergencies in a timely manner
P
• repare homes by: 
E
• nsuring they are move-in ready by proactively flagging anything impacting the leasing experience
P
• erform light cleaning duties as needed, including sweeping, vacuuming, and other cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness and appeal of the properties

• nsure proper removal and disposal of trash, if needed

• omplete a variety of inspections including:

• ove-out, make ready, move-in, and annual inspections as well as occupancy checks and a variety of other inspections
Q
• uality assurance inspections of work completed by outside vendors
C
• onduct onboarding inspections for new homes and document asset information
W
• ork in a safe manner and recognize unsafe situations. Take appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building

• erve as Mynd’s “on-the-ground” ambassador; post legal notices and inside maps across the property

• ther duties as assigned

ualifications:

H
• igh School diploma or GED equivalency required. Associates degree from a technical college preferred.

• years of direct building maintenance experience strongly desired

• alid driver's license & reliable transportation

• ools (hammer, screwdrivers, channel locks, multimeter, allen wrenches, pliers, knife, flashlight)

• xcellent communication skills, both written and verbal (written follow-up, ability to explain solutions to resident issues, etc.)

• ech savvy with ability to learn and use systems for tracking, scheduling and communications

ompensation:

25.00 - $30.00 hourly. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.
