TITLE: GSRP Associate Teacher
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB FUNCTION: The Associate Teacher will work to support the teacher in the preschool classroom.
DISTRICT DESCRIPTION: The District has approximately 800 students and is located in north central Michigan. Currently, 17% of our students qualify for special education services and about 2/3 of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Roscommon Elementary School serves early childhood preschool students aged 3 -5 years old and students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Roscommon
Middle School has students in grades 5 through 7. Roscommon High School has students in 8th through
12th grades.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as a team member in providing a quality educational preschool program
- Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring curriculum and assessment
- Assist in establishing family engagement activities
- Assist in home visits
- Assist in all daily operations of the program
- Work with individual and small groups of students
- Support children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts
- Assist children with personal health care needs
- Work collaboratively and communicate with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans, activities, and classroom tasks
- Assist teacher with monitoring behavior and supporting the educational process in the classroom
- Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress
- Collect and document data regarding the student(s)
- Maintain accurate and complete student records
- Supervise students in all settings including outdoor exploration and family style meals
- Participate in trainings and on-going professional development
- Able to work flexible hours as needed for family involvement activities, including home visits, recruitment events, open house
- Perform other duties as assigned

- the capacity to align curriculum, instruction, and assessments while responding to individual needs of students;
- the ability to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches, or administrators for instructional support in the never-ending quest to deliver the vision of high-quality subject-specific instruction in every class period every day.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: An associate degree (AA) in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent; or A valid Center-Based Preschool CDA credential; or An existing 120 Hour approval.

Previous pre-school experience
