Position Overview
We are currently seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at our Gorham location. This position will focus on supporting the growth and development of children in our Yearling classroom (ages 12 months to 2.5 years). The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a strong understanding of early childhood best practices to this important role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, responsive care and supervision for children in the Yearling or Sprouts classroom.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote sensory exploration, motor skill development, early language acquisition, and social-emotional growth.
- Build trusting and respectful relationships with children and families, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment that supports exploration and independence.
- Collaborate effectively with teaching colleagues and administrators to ensure cohesive implementation of curriculum and routines.
- Document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families about their child’s progress and daily experiences.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. CDA or Infant/Toddler credential accepted.
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed early childhood setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and experience implementing developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
