Summary
Our client is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I for a permanent position to be responsible for the support of production equipment and other facility assets. This mechanic must be able to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, maintain and repair operating equipment during production and breakdowns. In addition, the Maintenance Mechanic I, will work with others to achieve plant business objectives of safety, productivity, customer service, quality, cost and environmental protection.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots production equipment and mechanical failures, repairs and performs preventive maintenance (PM) as required to ensure equipment reliability
- Assists Operations, Quality and Engineering teams with root cause analysis for 5 Why’s, change management, Incident Management, and Non-Conformances to identify reasons for incident causes
- Works with operators and support production and other technicians
- Supports the daily operations of Planned Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance, and plant directives.
- Work with teams to fabricate machine parts as needed and responsible for shop cleaning and 5S
- Understand and comply with the clients policies on safety standards
- Ensures completion of work orders as scheduled and document in MP2 in a timely manner.
- Participates in work groups or team activities related to plant performance improvement.
- Additional duties as assigned
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience required
- Low to mid-level break-fix & preventative maintenance experience required
- Experience with online troubleshooting of PLC Programs preferred
Skills/ Abilities Problem Solving
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and perform repairs
- Understands electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems
- Understand Ohms law, voltage availability
- Understand electrical; 460 VAC 3-phase and 110 VAC control sources as far as determining power
- Demonstrated ability to perform electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System (MP2) knowledge desired
- Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills
- Team player attitude that is a highly disciplined, problem-solver with a strong work ethic

- Hourly Range for this position at is $27.33 - $32.37/hr (USD).
