The Machine Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of presorting machines used in mail processing and sorting facilities. General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain presorting machines to ensure accurate and efficient sorting of mail items.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and calibration of the machines.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize machine performance and resolve operational challenges.
- Keep accurate records of machine maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to presorting machines.
- Comply with safety protocols and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Work efficiently and effectively to contribute to the overall success of our mail-processing operations.
- Keeps work area clean by placing mail bins under machines or in
- Troubleshoot and remove mail piece jams from machine.
- Picks up plastic straps and strapping material off floors to prevent possible tripping hazards.
- Perform all additional duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Enjoys a fast-paced, physical production environment while developing new skills in the mailing industry.
- Proven experience as a Presorting Machine Technician or similar role, preferably in a mail service or postal environment, with a strong understanding of mail sorting equipment.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Familiarity with machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and machine interface operations.

Physical Demands:
