SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:  

Performs tasks related to drying plant product control.  Seasonal 24/7 rotating shifts. 

The following duties are typical for the Plant Utility Worker position.  Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address operational needs and changing business practices. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS:  

• Monitors drying bins and temperature control. 
• May Performs plant fill operations. 
• May Performs unloading operations. 
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance to drying tanks including painting, lubrication, etc. 
• Performs corrosion control. 
• Uses hand tools and moisture monitoring meter. 
• Performs daily inspections, pre-operational checks, night area checks of drying tanks and drying tank areas. 
• Assists with minor repairs to equipment. 
• Assists in maintaining production data. 
• Assists with open/close and load/unload gates and operate augers and elevators to direct nut flow. 
• Mains equipment assigned and completes maintenance reports. 
• Obeys company rules and regulations. 
• Performs other duties as directed.

WORK CONDITIONS:

• Work is typically performed in the drying plant. 
• May be exposed to dirt, fumes, and varying temperatures. 
• Works around drying tank machinery. 
• Work hours are rotating shifts 24/7. 
• Must be able to multi-task. 
• Some mental and visual attention required in the performance of duties and when working in close proximity of others.      

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, & Professional Association): 

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. 

Mandatory –  

• Must be physically capable of performing required duties. 
• Must be able to record daily duties, including hours worked, area covered, and maintenance required and owner nut production levels. 
• Must be able to carry out simple verbal instructions relative to the performance of the repetitive tasks. 
• Must be able to wear safety protective gear. 
• Must be able to sit for long periods at a time. 
• Must be able to climb ladders and not be afraid of heights.
