What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sous Chef position at Royal Plaza Inc?
Tasks and job duties, include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Be able to support any position in the kitchen that is in need of help.
* Perform additional duties as the need arises
* Ability to develop an effective working relationship with follow employees and supervisor.
* Prepare food for banquet as required following specification on banquet event orders.
* Maintain cleanliness and organized all storage areas.
* ensure food comes out simultaneously in high quality and timely fashion.
* Note out of stock items and possible shortage.
* Assist in the development of creative new food concept which ensures the highest quality food
* Closely supervise the production to avoid potential waste of food, labor and loss of quality.
Perquisites:
Education: Trade and or high school diploma, preferably a hotel/restaurant or culinary degree.
Experience: Previous hotel - related experience. Knowledge of food and beverage, management experience in food service operations.
Physical: Requires bending, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, manual dexterity, grasping, carrying, repetitive motions, visual acuity and hearing. Requires excellent written, verbal and listening skills to facilitate the communication process. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees, dining room staff and guests. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
