What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at RPL International?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with executive leadership to help define and execute the organization’s overall business and financial strategy.
- Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare weekly forecasts, identifying key trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Analyze product and job cost trends, operational performance, and margins; proactively identify issues and recommend improvements.
- Support the Sales team by reviewing customer credit applications and establishing appropriate credit limits based on risk.
- Review customer orders to ensure compliance with established revenue recognition policies.
- Oversee inventory valuation, including raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods at month-end.
- Manage inventory controls, including cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and reviews of obsolete or excess inventory.
- Support enhancements and reporting functionality within the company’s ERP system (IFS or similar).
- Assist in implementing and maintaining effective financial and IT controls to ensure compliance with internal control and SOX requirements.
- Provide financial, administrative, and operational support with a strong focus on cost control, inventory management, and process improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Accounting team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all local tax, regulatory, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Perform additional ad-hoc analysis and reporting as business needs evolve.

- Proven leadership experience building, mentoring, and managing high-performing finance teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.
- High degree of integrity, discretion, and ethical judgment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, internal controls, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel/financial modeling tools.
- Detail-oriented and highly responsive, with a strong commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines.
Salary : $170,000 - $200,000
