What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager position at RSI Security?

Purpose of this Position:

The Finance Manager will undertake all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, analysis, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies, procedures, auditing, and financial risk management.

Essential Functions:

Day-to-Day accounting tasks

  • Confers with upper management about budgeting and reviewing strategies to meet overall
  • Assist HR team as needed and oversee their financial duties (payroll, PTO payout, benefits packages, etc.)
  • Maintain positive and efficient working relationships with RSI’s bookkeeper, legal counsel, independent contractors, and RSI employees
  • Consistently update and manage financial records in Quickbooks and Excel
  • Collaborate with RSI employees on project-related budgets, production and vendor costs, internal expenses, per diem, travel logistics, and hourly tracking
  • Manage all accounts receivable and accounts payable

Client and Vendor Management:

  • Lead all client project budgets, projections & expenses from pitch to completion alongside Senior Team and Account Team
  • Manage and analyze invoicing processes and systems to ensure maximum efficiency in cash flow
  • Lead scope of work development and MSA creation with RSI’s Senior Team and Account Team
  • Review, redline, finalize and approve SOW’s and MSA’s and provide constructive direction and/or feedback to project lead and Senior Team
  • Oversee agreements and financial related matters for vendors and independent contractors, ensuring invoices are paid on time and in sound business agreement with RSI’s financial status and cash flow
  • Manage external and internal audits of banking, payroll, and tax relationships

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Lead and manage production of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports to provide to CEO
  • Lead review and implementation of close cycle to continuously shorten and improve the process
  • Provide weekly and monthly cash flow projections and maintain cash balances to CEO
  • Prepare monthly financial statements with comparisons to and variance analysis against prior year(s) to Senior Team and CEO
  • Ensure that all monthly balance sheet reconciliations are complete and accurate
  • Oversee our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function and all matters, while monitoring weekly aging reports
  • Routinely prepare a variety of financial reports for the CEO and Senior team
  • Strategize and implement new best practices for budgeting, tracking and reporting with a focus on finding efficiencies and enabling automation
  • Manage the general ledger including updates, system access, chart of accounts, and period closes
  • Regularly provide risk management insights, recommendations, and implementation of sound policies

Compliance:

  • Serve as the primary contact with RSI’s external auditors
  • Ensure that all accounting records are complete and accurate prior to external audits
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal government reporting requirements and filing
  • Lead annual external audit including preparation of consolidated financial statements
  • Task and role assignments as directed through Finance EOS Rocks in regards to overall project profitability and project health
  • Procurement processing related tasks
  • Gather an understanding of, and process any revenue / sale reporting to local city tax comptroller(s) as directed by State local municipality or city jurisdiction
  • During the review of monthly financial packages from AccountingDepartment.com, and/or prior, identify spending by vendors to measure cost and suggest reduction if the need arises.
  • Other duties as specified by your manager.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements of the position:

  • Over 5-10 years of relevant experience in IT, Technology or Cybersecurity service industry. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Expertise in QuickBooks, Google Sheet and Excel, including data analysis
  • Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong process-driven design, implementation and maintenance for consistency
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work across departments
  • A strong work ethic, team player mentality, and a creative mindset
  • A talented finance professional who is technically competent, is a great communicator and has strong interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starter with strong work ethic, who can work with autonomy and have a high level of ownership.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with solid business judgment and integrity

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has employee supervisory responsibility and will manage an outside transactional accounting firm.
 

Work Environment: This is a remote, work-from-home position.
 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to push, move, lift or otherwise bear 10-15lbs. 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with weekly hours totaling 40 hours. Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must submit to a background check as a contingency for the position.
