We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fiber Splicer to join our team. Key Responsibilities
- Fiber Splicing: Perform precise splicing of both single fiber and ribbon fiber cables up to 864F.
- Documentation & Reporting: Interpret splice schematics, prints, maps, and work orders. Maintain accurate daily production records and as-built documentation.
- Equipment Handling: Set up various enclosures such as Preform Coyote Closures, FOSC 450D, and FOSC 600 cases.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct fiber optic cable testing using OTDRs and other relevant test equipment.
- Scheduled Cutovers: Work night shifts as required during scheduled cutovers and system changes.
- Emergency Support: Participate in an on-call rotation for outages and emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Field Experience: Proven experience in field service, specifically in fiber splicing.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of telecommunication systems, splicing techniques, and cabling methods.
- Equipment Proficiency: Ability to operate bucket trucks and other industry-specific machinery.
- Physical Capability: Skilled in climbing and working in various field conditions, including construction sites.
- Licensing: Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving to various job locations.
- Networking Knowledge: Basic understanding of WAN, computer networking, and data transmission.
- Safety Awareness: Demonstrated experience working safely with hand tools and adhering to site-specific safety protocols.
