The Business Analyst has experience working as an analyst on medium initiatives. When working independently on medium projects, is expected to collect and document quality business and technical requirements from internal customers and business partners. The Business Analyst is responsible for contributing to decisions, communicating requirements to business partners and software development teams, and performing any necessary configuration and workflow settings within the Ruan Transportation Management System (TMS) to meet those requirements. Comfortable working independently to research and help develop required or sought-after features and/or functionality for various systems or applications.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for analyzing requirements, determining solution options, making recommendations, documenting the solution, configuring, testing, training, deploying, and supporting the Ruan Transportation Management System (TMS) for new and existing clients and internal operations teams
- Collaborate with clients, business development teams, operational users, and the internal IT team to ensure system deliverables are on-time and performed at a high standard.
- Resolve problems to support the business or present opportunities for improvements for internal and external customers by utilizing solid problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and clearly documenting the "why" and "what" of the business problem/ask.
- Ability to understand and adopt industry trends in the analysis space to better service our clients and operations to provide solutions to problems. Ability to adapt to meet business and project needs.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Course(s) of study: Supply Chain, Computer Science, MIS, or BCIS - 3-5 years’ – Business Analysis, IT, project management, and solution delivery. Experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) or equivalent Transportation Management System (TMS) is preferred. Experience within the Transportation industry with processes such as transportation optimization, carrier rate tariffs, and EDI transportation communications is preferred.
- Individual must be able to demonstrate solid analytical and problem-solving abilities. Requires ability to create and maintain business rules, user stories, and process/data flows to clearly communicate business and technical requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to facilitate meetings, and requirements sessions with stakeholders from the business and IT to concisely document high-quality requirements. Must have a solid technical background and ability to communicate with all roles from transportation operations to IT.
- Must have experience with facilitation and relationship building; solid written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate ideas and collaborate with others.
- Individual has good presentation skills and should be able to communicate analytical and process information to non-technical staff.
- Job requires individual to produce quality documentation of business and technical requirements. Has ability to deliver quality results under time constraints and accomplish duties with little supervision and direction required.
