What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Robotics Teacher (Middle School) position at Rudlin Torah Academy?
Richmond Hebrew Day School (RTA) is seeking a part-time Robotics Teacher to work with middle school students during the 2025–26 school year, beginning in March. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator, engineer, or STEM professional who enjoys working with students and bringing hands-on technology learning to life.
The ideal candidate is passionate about robotics, engineering, and problem-solving and enjoys guiding students through creative, project-based learning experiences.
Responsibilities
Design and teach engaging, hands-on robotics and engineering lessonsIntroduce students to Arduino, basic electronics, and introductory programming (block-based and/or text-based)Facilitate project-based learning using design-thinking principlesDifferentiate instruction to support students with varying skill levelsFoster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environmentCollaborate with faculty and participate in school life as appropriate
Qualifications
Experience teaching or facilitating middle school students in robotics, engineering, computer science, or related STEM fieldsStrong working knowledge of Arduino, electronics, and beginner programming conceptsFamiliarity with project-based learning and formative assessment practicesAbility to scaffold instruction and support diverse learnersStrong classroom management and communication skillsTeaching experience preferred; industry or STEM professionals with youth experience are encouraged to apply
