Compensation:$55,000-$60,000 yearly based on experience
Responsibilities:- Evaluate risk for acceptance, rejection, or modification in compliance with company guidelines and procedures for Homeowners and Personal Auto lines of business.
- Review and evaluate requests from agents for approval of situations that may fall outside the established underwriting guidelines.
- Review and evaluate incoming policy change requests.
- Review and evaluate risk alerts based upon activity and information provided from claim adjusters and make decisions regarding renewal impact.
- Review and promptly respond to incoming e-mails/phone calls and correspondence from agents, assistants, and internal employees.
- Process daily, weekly, and monthly workbench items requiring underwriting action.
- Make decisions, follow procedures, follow the letter of authority, and work within the published department service standards.
- Provide input on products and procedures.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of Personal lines underwriting experience.
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask and make decisions.
- Strong team player.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and multitask.
- Demonstrated proficient personal computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
- Additional education in insurance or other industry-related coursework is preferred. Interest in pursuing additional education in the insurance industry.
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish, Hmong, etc.) are a plus.
